so pretty much the average for a new hire would be at least five years as I understand

TO THOSE LOOKING AT SKYWEST:
So far I really like SkyWest, after 2.5 months on reserve I am holding a line, I live where I want, I work with a lot of fun and very knowledgeable people and I look forward to my future with SkyWest and beyond. We are expanding, and we may not keep getting pay increases because of way too many regionals signing concessionary contracts, but I believe we will stay towards the top of the regional list to work at.

Signed,
Blissfully out of touch
Lol
Envoy will be the straw that broke the camels back. It won't be long before Skywest is trying to ram 12 and 4 year pay scales damn our throats here.

Wow not even here for a year and already telling people to quit.

Here's a big issue at Skywest right now... When you time out no one knows what will happen. So far one person was only paid the credit on the trips he flew and nothing more. This is a huge deal! So far other regionals still pay guarantee if you time out, but we don't have any clear language in our policy manual regarding this. Our bidding software also takes into account your flight time and can/will adjust accordingly. In the last 6 months the only people I've flown with that have blocked less than 90 hours a month are dedicated stand up crews in my opinion were going to see some serious staffing issues pretty soon. I'm not saying don't come here because I enjoy it, but there will be some turmoil this summer unlike any others in the past.

Anyone who even attempts to give an estimate is full of it. The only thing known is what's happening now.

Weird I don't remember signing that... And when SkyWest does it in the name of follow the leader so be it. If I get to the day I am telling people not to come where I am, you won't see me here anymore. Of course I want the most out of my career and compensated fairly, and that is why I will move when and where I need to create the best QOL for myself, the only thing we have certain control over is our actions, keep on keeping on.

I see emp #330## is listed as a cap, I am guessing that would be around a 5 year number... Never chase the upgrade.

Do you want to work with some sour puss which leads to an unsafe environment and ultimately your safety and career? If someone hates the company they work for and does not believe in the product they sell they need to take it upon themselves to change. They shouldn't need a toddler telling them that, after all I am less than a year old with the company so is that how I should be treated?

The last upgrade to be awarded was a October 2007 hire. There was no hiring between December 2007 and September 2010. But there are still quite few end of 2007 hires to get through before the upgrades skip to the 2010 hires. Plus the more senior FO's that are holding out to be lineholders. And then a few Bro captains that have to transition to the jet as well. At the current rate of upgrades, I'd be willing to bet a few 2010 hires could upgrade mid to late 2015.

Dude never said he hated the company or didnt believe in the product. Their only statement that isnt fact was Envoy TA killing growth/attrition, the TA results are unknown, but probably not positive for any pilot group.

We just fired the 30 year employee doing the hiring.

And management walked away from pay negotiations with no return plans except for concession talks.

GO ANY WHERE ELSE!
Wow, I'm glad we've never flown together. +1, maybe you should quit.
