I'm the opposite of you. I'm at 3 years seniority and I have less than 100 hours in the 700 and 900 combined. Any trip on one goes super senior here even if it's a 16 hour 4 day. The last time I flew the 700 (to BJX of all places) I debated asking the captain to take all the landings because I was scared of the damn thing.

90% of my flying is 700, it's a tough sucker to land even for us experienced veterans. It's not near as stable as the 900 and has the same strut gear for less weight which equals Kaboom! Don't feel bad about it. I've seen some very nasty landings from some 10 plus yr capts and had my fair share of them too.

Very few people wear the hat. Mostly people that need to... . It gets damaged, lost, and some look like a sombrero....more shirts are better or if you are really want to blow a load of money the leather jacket which is amazing in winter. Best shirts/pants are at A Cut Above Uniforms, at least in my opinion, but sadly thats not part of the uniform allotment. Last I heard you can also use your uniform allotment to buy a roller board or a lunch bag.

Only 1 guy in my class bought the hat. After wearing the horrible shirts from Crew Outfitters (ugh) I bought a bunch of shirts from A Cut Above. Far, far better and more comfortable.

I love A Cut Above shirts. I'm coming from another airline gig so I have the luggage works and the lunch bag. Definitely need new shirts. Mine are an interesting shade of yellow.
