There's another gap in 2013 right?

I think so, but it was only a month or two at most. There was also a month or two gap around the beginning of 2012. But none of them were anywhere close to being as big as this gap.

When your domicile closes, your equipment is shifted around, the howling and whining is epic. Lots of you guys did a month or 2 of reserve, awesome, perfect, doesn't get any better, but when things change it can get real interesting quickly. What are you gonna do when Skywest decides to close down Expressjet and offers DOH to the ExpressJet guys? Your sweet lineholder status just went from weekends off, to permanent reserve in MSP. You say "balderdash", that can't happen(or can it?). Expressjet/ASA has a fragmentation clause in their contract, you have a "gentlemans" agreement. Big things are brewing, and it's getting real interesting very quickly. Check the new hanger in KBOI, pretty tall for RJs, and no SKYW isn't getting wide bodies either.
What if the ocean drys up tomorrow. What if the sun doesn't come up. I will deal with things as they come. Some captains have told me I will be at Delta before I am a captain here; would be nifty. Bottom line: SkyWest is a good place to come right now, and there is no need to be so down. Chin up buttercup, we live in 'Merica and we ride around in airplanes.

And just like that. 4 year upgrade. I think it'll hover at 4 years for awhile though. Lots of seniors holding out for west coast bases or line holding.

It may settle down to 3 years at last unless there's more flying that we don't know of.

Nothin wrong with optimism, best tempered with a small dose of reality. This business chews up people at staggering rates, and when the regionals start having a hard time staffing all bets are off. Rumors floating around about having to have a Dr. note for a sick call. If that happens the TDY nightmares will abound as will the reflow junk kicks. If you learn anything, big changes cause big pain for everyone, this summer will be very interesting, hold on to your rollaboard.

It more then a month or two. More like 7-8 months, I remember that time well being stuck at the bottom.

Wow. Upgrades are that long still? I've got a friend there just transitioned to the CRJ from the Bro. He's been at Skwest for 4 years. No upgrade for him in the near future.
