Question for OO guys in the know...I see that there are roughly 70+ FOs that got the upgrade nod on 2/27/15...How long before these individuals begin their upgrade training? Do you receive the email saying you've been awarded upgrade and "standby" for a class date? Or does the upgrade award mean you will be starting class the following month? I'm a June 11' hire and am just trying to judge the chances of getting the magical email sometime later this year...
Thanks for any info you all are willing to share!

I don't think they're done yet. Bids are still closed and they haven't back filled any FO's into the CA upgrade slots.

Just about to apply to Skywest. After reading about the last 80 pages, i have narrowed down my questions if y'all could be so kind to answer. I'd be based in ORD, seems like the CRJ's are the safe choice.
1- After training, are the new hires actually approaching the guarantee in FLIGHT TIME? I wouldn't want to be sitting on reserve AND not flying. New hire buddy at PSA is getting about 70 hrs/ mo.
2- Is it actually reasonable to pick up extra trips? I've already heard how you can't pick up a trip on the same duty day... Kinda inefficient since you're already at the airport and offering to fill the slot.
3. I'm young and have a child and if you can't tell yet, I'm trying to do the best for my family and choose the right carrier... Sooo is Skywest the right choice for getting the flight time and progressing in a manner comparable to other regionals while making a little more than $24 an hour?
4. Stats show second year pay is $39, does this still hold true and is that a guarantee at 13 months?
Thanks you very much guys/gals!

2#-Difficult, needs of ScrewScheduling dictate what will happen. If you are trying to pick up a company open time pairing, might happen, if its a drop request from another crewmwmber, not so much.
3#-This question is loaded, ask yourself if you can deal being TDY assigned for 5 days a week across the country and not flying at all. This is worst case scenario, might be better, but not worse. Only you can decide if this is compatible with family life. If your wife isn't extremely independent this could be difficult.
4#-Pay increases for the first pay period after the anniversary.

Thanks Clickclickboom. I was sooo tempted to even as for you response by name... You have had a lot of presence on this forum and to some, not so welcome but I see the honesty in your writing. It's extremely hard to get a feel for who to trust and what to believe and I'm about to pull my hair out. Good thing is my wife and I know where the end game is and that life will get better. If someone feels that a pilot getting in at this time won't get a couple thousand hours in about three to five years and be looking desirable to the majors, please chime in. But for now, as long as Skywest isn't in complete disarray, I'd like to bite the bullet now, knowing that in 6 months I will be above at least 300+ guys.

300+ guys below you in six months is a little ambitious. You will move up a ton, but I don't think any outfit has guys moving up 50 spots per month consistently.

Can any SkyWest line holders list FO bases from most junior to most senior for me? Thanks
