Is it just me or do those pointy things on the end of wings look different than usual?

I thought they looked odd too compared to what I've seen on the E series already out there. Evidently it's the first of Embraer's enhanced version.

Right now there are only 7 FOs total who aren't seat locked with bids in for the E175 with the most senior person on the list being just over 2 years. No one more senior than 2 years has a bid in for it right now. They haven't announced any new bids for it for a few months though. Usually when they update the vacancy report and announce they'll be awarding a class more people add themselves to the list. As of right now it's been going pretty junior though since the only base is ORD (which is very junior on the CRJ) and there are only a few limited routes. I'm sure it will go more senior once more bases are opened since the pay scale on it beats the 200 and 700.

Senior FOs who can hold 900 trips can probably credit more than the E175 guys so I'm not sure how many super senior FOs would want to bid over to it.

Ah ok gotcha.

Is there a possibility of them lifting seatlocks to fill those seats BEFORE they direct hire into them?

I'm just a lowly FO so I don't know what management is thinking. It seems like when the training program is just coming online it would make more sense to put current pilots through it. They're going to be concerned about their pass rate for a little while because the FAA will be doing a lot of observations. Current pilots who have gone through the Brasilia or RJ training program are going to be less likely to fail the transition to the 175 than a CFI with no 121 experience.

In the past it's not un-unprecedented for them to lift Brasilia seat locks when they've needed RJ pilots so it's possible. I think management probably knows that there are a lot of CFIs out there with SJS who think they're too good for a Brasilia but would jump at the chance to fly an E175. If they honestly can't find current pilots they'll take new hires.
