Skywest has a happy non-union pilot group and management wants to keep it that way. If they really negotiate against us behind our backs they would turn us into an unhappy pilot group.

How would you know the pilot group is unhappy?

Non-union, yes.

Happy, not so much anymore. Happier than other regionals, most likely yes, but that's not saying much these days.

Personally I think SGU suspects that a union is inevitable and at this point is just trying to tilt as much in their favor as they can before the status-quo gets frozen the day after the vote.

Nevets you must be a blast on 4 days. Lay off already. Clearly nobody here cares.

After all the great work ALPA has done recently for Pinnacle, PSA, Eagle and XJT why would I ever vote them in? It seems like I'd be paying extra money out of my pocket for some extremely poor representation. I'd prefer not to take a paycut paying union dues just to have a concessionary contract negotiated for me and shoved down my throat with the threat of becoming 'Comair II.'

But that's precisely what I'm showing you! They are negotiating behind your back! And you wouldn't have known it until pilots were inserted into your seniority list OR someone else told you about it before then. Answer this for me, has anyone in management told you about these clauses that they negotiated in the XJT contract? I guess IF (big if) that actually happened, you would be unhappy but at that point it would be too late. Wouldn't it? Wouldn't you have liked a seat at that table to advocate solely on your behalf and taking only your interests into consideration?

What else is our CEO doing behind our backs?

Who said anything about ALPA? Your union is always only going to be as good as your leadership, regardless of what letters you pick to name it.

By the way, that threat is coming from OUR management. Don't be so naive that you arent just an expense line item to them either.

By the way, go ahead with your personal attacks if that's all you have. I will just ignore them since they add nothing to the discussion. It's the classic ad hominem argument.

Nevets, you are still missing the point. Who cares what you "negotiate" and get put into your toilet paper "contract"? It will never be honored, management will ensure it, even as they dangle that carrot for you as so-called protection to get you to approve the TA. Even your own pilots are worrying that the language doesn't prohibit a GoJets-style alter-ego from being created, aircraft transferred, and putting your pilots on the street, not in our cockpits.

Indeed, end of January should be the next one, and then most likely the end of every month after that. They start Indoc for newhires the week prior to starting transition class so everyone starts systems on the same day together, and transitions typically seem to be scheduled for the first full week of the month.

Give the hiring people a few days to get through the holiday, and hopefully you should hear something soon. Good luck!
