Other guys, who didn't have the delay, finished IOE in mid-December, so that's 3 months from DOH to IOE.
However, there are also potential delays between Sim and IOE. My sim partner had a 3-week break between Ground and Sim, and then a 4-week break between Sims and IOE.
As for LAX, I can't hold it yet...should be able to hold it by April.

As far as hiring goes, if you meet the minimums, it's almost certain you will get on. Recency, DUI's, and things that just 6 months ago would have been show stoppers are gone.
SkyWest needs people, and they are not getting enough.
I think word is getting out that SkyWest is just like all the other regionals except there is no flow, pays the same or less, no contract, and upgrade is longer. The advantage, if there ever was one, is diminishing.
Word from last week was that of 12 people scheduled for interviews one day, zero showed, with no notice.
A friend that just interviewed with Delta a couple of weeks ago had 15 other pilots in his interview group, all of them got hired.
Things are starting to get interesting.

Time frame depends on sim availability. I started class (DOH) 9/22/14, and had a 7-week break between ground (Systems) and Sims. I finished 200 IOE on January 7 and am doing 700/900 OOE this week. So, I guess that's basically 4 months from DOH to completion of IOE including differences training.

Sounds like they'll just cancel the orders then since they have no one to fly them for. With the current problem of hiring pilots and filling classes, it's possible the plan to shrink the company will only accelerate

Not realy the case. Most the new SEA stuff is hub/spoke out of Seattle.. Plus adding a few SW Alaska citys... But yes before SEA was even a base SLC crews did most the flying. Same with LAX/SFO. But thats was 5+years ago... I see more growth in MSP/DTW flying. MSP may end up our largest base!!!
SAN and PSP were bases before Slc existed(as a domicile), so I guess Slc has been taking their flying?

After a year with xjt, I'm thinking of jumping the ship to skw. Any opinions why this might not be a good idea?
