Okay, I thought as much. The thought came (unlikely scenario) that if there were two applicants, one having only just met the minimum requirements for currency and the other having met it and flying x hours in addition - if the second would be more favorable over the first.

Also, anyone else told that SKW has 200 175s on order + 200 E2 175s + 400 Mrj 175s? I can't find any press releases confirming any of that info... Not trying to bait here, just trying to figure out why they would tell us that

I somehow got through 1.5 years on the Brasilia without ever overnighting in IPL or IYK. I still have nightmares about the time I opened my hotel room window in CEC and there was a fat guy in his tighty whiteys grilling hamburgers in the trailer park. At least CEC gave us a free car.

The caveat to that is the orders are contingent on them getting contracts to fly the planes... so no contracts, no planes.

What's the current time frame from DOH to IOE at Skywest? How quick can one get LAX?

As far as hiring goes, if you meet the minimums, it's almost certain you will get on. Recency, DUI's, and things that just 6 months ago would have been show stoppers are gone.
SkyWest needs people, and they are not getting enough.
I think word is getting out that SkyWest is just like all the other regionals except there is no flow, pays the same or less, no contract, and upgrade is longer. The advantage, if there ever was one, is diminishing.
Word from last week was that of 12 people scheduled for interviews one day, zero showed, with no notice.
A friend that just interviewed with Delta a couple of weeks ago had 15 other pilots in his interview group, all of them got hired.
Things are starting to get interesting.

No, what you're referencing is only applicable to the first 100 current series E175s. Of which 40 went to UAL and 7 to AS. So 53 are tied to winning contracts. The 100 firm MRJs and 100 firm E175 E2s dont hinge on contracts.
