FAT and PSP are getting the 700, so brosephs there might have an opportunity to stay on the RJ without changing domiciles.
I'm curious about this. I wonder how this all will affect ORD CRJ and Ejet flying, where most new hires are going to. I imagine it will make it tougher to get to LAX/SFO/West coast bases for the next little while.

What I'm specifically curious about is how it affects the Ejet since I specifically avoided it as a new hire so I wouldn't be bumped down to reserve. I wonder how many will decide to bid on it. The irony? I am on reserve and all the ejet guys hold a line right now..

Doesn't matter. Some things can't be fixed.

The answer to your question will be based on any new 175 flying (if any) and how many West guys bid to it.

I think it will be about a 50/50 split until some northwest 175 flying is announced, then expect that number to go 60/40 175 transitions.

If I was a socal or SLC guy I'd bid any base out west i.e. CRJ unless I lived in the Bay Area then maybe the jungle jet.

Bro guys don't know or care about the classic and its 16 leg 4 day trips...they're used to it!

The new hires going into the jungle jet for the next few months likely wont see much reserve because that side will be short staffed for many months...

One of the things that being here for awhile is it allows one to watch behaviors. I have watched numerous F/As troll for F/Os, because many of the Capts that aren't hooked up with F/As are wise to the scam. One of the guys I flew with decided that the regular F/A he was flying with and hung out with was pretty cool and started banging her on a regular basis, problem occurred when he knocked her up and his wife was served his paternity paper work. He came home to his stuff out on the driveway and ended up with 800.00 monthly child support and what amounts to adjustable alimony. The judge wanted to make sure his wife got her share of his upgrade money...
Do the math, stick it in a F/A at your own peril, having a child with someone ties you to them for the rest of your life, so when you look down at that hot High School Grad F/A, who has her hand around your unwrapped schlong, and is guiding it towards her baby maker, ask yourself, when you were in high school, she was one of the ones/types who laughed at you in the cafeteria, what has changed.
Nothing, except your future earning potential and her future at Red Robin.

So given the choice as a new hire from the SF Bay Area... CRJ or 175?

The CRJ will offer more flexibility, more trip options, and better seniority for a long time to come. The ERJ only makes practical sense for...

- People who are already very senior in base. The ERJ will raise their base pay scale a bit.

- Folks trying to move on who already have a CRJ type and feel another type rating will allow them to check another box on the app.

Now if SJS is your main concern then ERJ for sure, much more impressive looking airplane...you can setup a photo angle of you with the ERJ in the background that will make it look like a real airplane. Post that on facebook and no will ever suspect that you're not a real mainline pilot

That's an easy Bro trip...there was a time when I did 16 leg, 18 credit 2 days on the Bro (pre-117). But that was usually all I did for the week.

Yeah,
The current subject matter had gotten just depressing, banging F/As is infinitely more funny, with a Shakespearean potential....the healthcare debate is depressing in a sad way at best.

I flew the bro and I can't even imagine that. The worst trip I remember doing was a 22 leg 4 day with a 10 hour rest, 8 legs, then 9 hour rest that night. That day was brutal with the short rests.
