when i was offered the job with SKW, they gave me the option of CRJ or ERJ. I did have to wait a little longer to get into the ERJ class though, (would have been in ground school a few weeks earlier if i went CRJ) since I think they're occupied with putting a lot of transition folks through it as well.
This guy ^^^^ got in somehow, I feel like his case is an anomaly though not the norm. I don't have any information on ERJ class date though. I switched to the CRJ class instead of waiting for the ERJ. This was for the reasons mentioned so far (i.e seniority and transferring to the ERJ on a later date).

There are a few new hires getting the ERJ here and there, but that alone should be the reason to take the CRJ. As a new hire, you will likely see your seniority fall as more senior guys bid over in front of you, while seniority on the CRJ will rapidly improve.

Those are systems classes. When they hire new hires on the CRJ/ERJ they put them together in SLC for indoc then separate them for systems.

So yes there are two classes planned. And they will probably have 0 new hires in them. In fact, soakpilot even confirmed that by saying there are no new hires on the ERJ in the Jan 22 class (which would have them in the Feb 3 systems class) or the Feb 5 class (which would have them in the Feb 16 systems class).

If you can provide insight where to find futher class dates please let me know? As of right now, I only see those two classes on the DVR. But regardless, I would be surprised to see any new hires be put into the ERJ in the near future.

How long is the CRJ indoc and systems class? I've heard one month but that doesn't sound accurate.

Yup, 4 weeks. 1 week for indoc plus an extra day for the test and 2 and a half weeks of systems. Weekends off. They also throw in uniform fitting, emergency training, TSA training, pbs intro, and some other stuff that I can't remember. During systems you get 4 or 5 sessions in the FMS lab as well. Overall pretty good program minus the couple of rah rah sessions.

I was in the training center last week and saw the ERJ class list. Two classes per month through April...

And how is training at SKW? What is the success rate for people with no prior experience? Do they require prior 121/135 for the ERJ?
Thanks!

Seniority is everything.

They don't require prior 121/135 experience for the ERJ. New hires for the ERJ are being put in a pool for a class date though, and it seems like more senior pilots (from the Brasilian & CRJ) are getting priority on ERJ class dates.

The First 2 questions I can't answer yet.

Excellent and thorough.

I assume you mean prior turbine or 121 experience? I don't know the answer. About 40% of my new-hire class had no prior 121 or turbine time, and everyone did fine. The failure rate at SKW is very low.

No, but what's happening on the ERJ is that a lot of the Brasilia pilots are bidding over to it. The Bro goes away in May, so I suspect that new-hires wanting the ERJ may be waiting a long, long time (possibly 3--6 months or more) before SKW starts putting a lot of new hires in the ERJ. Sure, there are a few guys/gals who get put into the ERJ straight away, but looking at the bid list for the ERJ I am seeing a huge amount of Bro pilots bidding for it.

If I were you I'd go for the CRJ.
