Blah, blah, blah. For every FO complaining about an upgrade there's a Captain complaining about his $120k job, acting like he can just quit at the drop of the hat. But... for some reason they keep showing up and make people miserable 4 days at a time.....

On a few occasions lately I have seen some poor examples of flight crew leadership -- mostly stemming from an attitude of indifference and selfishness. The snowball effect of these attitudes in this industry is real, and I am sad to say I witnessed many people (crew and pax alike) greatly inconvenienced by it. One small action can cascade into a multi-day disruption quite easily, when things are running on thin ice due to weather or other irregular ops issues.
Thankfully, those with this sort of attitude are, I think, still in the minority. Regardless of which industry you work in, airlines or not, these attitudes are hazardous for the well-being of everyone around. Before the airlines I worked in a very different line of work, and while it was very rare in that field, there were still a few bad apples. Invariably they either quit or were shown the door, but in that line of work, with projects that lasted many months it was not an overnight process. I learned form that experience, both in a contributor and leadership role, that when you have someone on your team who is completely indifferent, consistently negative, and selfish, the net effect of their presence in the team was negative. That is to say, you'd get more done without them.

Click face it, you're not leaving anytime soon. The more you post about pulling the trigger the less guys believe you. It's not hard to see through your cool guy, rebel without a cause attitude. But keep throwing your coworkers under the bus, maybe they'll see the light. Or not. Must feel good changing the world one APC post at a time...

Just wondering if there's any back log or delays in training? Seems like ground school to sims there a month or so delay. What about Checkride to IOE?
Any idea how long training will take from start of ground school until IOE?
Also do you get your full 75 hour guarantee during this time, or is it only 60?
Thanks!

All regionals need a cadre of top-seniority lifer dogs...they provide cultural continuity and an example of maturity, and also typically help to hold the young bucks down as far as compensation goes (via the mechanism of the union or whatever). In exchange, said top dogs get comfortable six-figure salaries and good schedules, or even much higher than than $100K for sim guys.
But what you can't have is a whole bunch of mid-seniority lifers clogging up the longevity scale. SKW may well be trying to push the pain deep into the top 1000 to "encourage" attrition amongst the 1500-500 range. A consequence of the high QOL of the past, and primo western bases, is that lots of folks have stuck around here, even folks who didn't plan to.
The ideal demographic is the top 5-10 percent stays, and everybody else cycles through quickly, say about 5-6 years tops...keeps FO pay averaging in the $30s and CA pay in the $70s.
If you can't get a major job after 6-8 years, nobody in this industry wants you sticking around collecting $100K to fly an RJ...you're no longer welcome.

I don't care what they do, I was referring to the industry, ie management. They don't want folks like that sticking around and if they have to COMAIR them to get rid of them they will.
