I'm a "newbie" in the E175 ground school right now. No previous 121 experience for me.
when i was offered the job with SKW, they gave me the option of CRJ or ERJ. I did have to wait a little longer to get into the ERJ class though, (would have been in ground school a few weeks earlier if i went CRJ) since I think they're occupied with putting a lot of transition folks through it as well.

I don't mean to derail the thread topic here, but what is the general quality of overnight hotels? Varies from base to base? Any super cracked out hotels to avoid bidding?

I could always complain, but for the most part I am happy with the hotels the company puts up in. I think they do a decent job.

All hotels have been pretty nice except the EKO (Elko, NV out of the SLC base). It's part of the casino and smells like cigarette smoke. Supposedly it's the nicest hotel in town though. Other than that, most hotels are very nice and some have pretty good breakfasts!

Yes, except in rare situations involving small towns in BFE, all the hotels are nice enough, with some resort properties with great locations.

Better than some LCCs from what I hear.

I remember being in that casino at 2 am one night. I'm convinced that everyone else at the blackjack table, dealer included, had done hard time...

Our hotels very, but I like most of them. Hamptons, HGI, Crowne Plazas, etc. My least favorite is LAX at the Custom Hotel. I'd say my favorite is the Radisson Blu in MSP. Hotels are always changing though as they either don't want our business or they increase the rate. If it's a nice hotel in a popular area, some hotels just don't want airline business because they can make way more from "normal" paying people $250 per night instead of losing on our measly $89 per night contract. Hence one of the reasons we can't get out of the Custom.

They've been doing that for a while.
