Overheard an exchange between IOE student and check airman getting ready for his 700 check out in the crew room. Check airman said he was going to take the deparure due to surface winds and he can do the rest of the flight. IOE kid said he'd do better if he himself made the takeoff in 30kt x/w because he was from ERAU so he knows the CRJ very well. Can't make this stuff up.

butthurt much? He was just pointing out a fact lost on a lot of the kids in this thread chomping at the bit to go make $1800/month flying a $30M E175 with a 100 lives in their hands... The problem is deep and begins with the pilots taking these crap jobs.

That seems excessive. To my knowledge, we've lost three...but I will compare the class rosters to the seniority list later tonight or tomorrow to verify.
We've had a mess of people get sick over the past week in ATL though. Heard they had FlightSafety wipe down the sim pretty good today to stem the tide.

A bit more than that I'll say. I moved up 144 numbers on seniority since I was hired (August), I was the highest social sec number and I didn't know of anyone washing on the 3 classes that were on training at the same time, except 1 guy that didn't show up at our class.

Compared the seniority list from 10/30 to 11/6 and there were six names that were missing that had TRG listed as domicile. Again, it was my assumption of what class there were in based on when they showed up on the seniority list. Unless we are taking people off the seniority list for being sick, these are pilots that are no longer with SkyWest..

6 in a week, sounds like the training dept is picking up the slack from HR/People. Mins/pulse may get you through the door, but weak sauce will get you back out, said door. I hear Messa is hiring though....
