Most CRJ new hires are assigned MSP initially, but are able to bid elsewhere within a month or two after training. As a general rule, the further west you go, the more senior the base typically gets.

There is this thing called the "Search". In stories handed down over the ages its a mystical box that when clicked and words are typed into it, it can reveal all the information you are looking for. Now granted these are just old stories handed down from forum to forum... But I think if you were too look hard enough and wish upon a star, that you may be the lucky one to find it!

Anybody care to guess about how things will be looking for a new hire domicile in Houston in the next 2 to 3 months? Been hearing MSP and ORD are the only options.

It seems the most junior FO in IAH has around 7 months at the company.

This obsession about getting a domicile quickly is chucklesome, while my experience may or may not be the rule, for a 20 year career to date, I have had to commute for about 15 of them. Commute=more than 1 hours flying time or 3+ hour car drive. With at least 1/2 in an airliner, and of the airline commute all more than 1000 air miles away.
2 choices, man up, and accept the reality that you will either have to commute or relocate frequently, or find another career choice. Sleeping on your Spider-Man sheets and gazing at your Fathead poster of Emminem in your mom and dads basement will have to end someday.
If the thought of not sleeping in your parents basement scares you, you are gonna love TDY reserve out of base, 5 days of glorious 1 3/4 star hotel sitting watching a tube tv with 3 channels and wifi with the speed of smoke signals, and you might get to go do a turn with the #1 bid avoid CA in the domicile.
