But that would require talking to TC. He's a senior FO who thinks he's god of the company and talks down to everyone. I doubt he'll be very helpful if you actually call him. I haven't met a bigger jerk at this company yet.

ERJ SFO FO is going junior, most junior award is a 10/2014 hire. Id take the ERJ for 1 more day of seniority than everyone in CRJ class.

 

So I may be totally off base with this prediction because the airline industry is notoriously unpredictable but.. A lot of current FOs aren't bidding over to the E175 due to loss of Delta benefits and lack of domiciles. It seems to me like if there's a Delta contract in the future a lot of FOs wouldn't have any reason to stay on the CRJ when they could go over to the E175 and get a (very small) pay raise. I'd be nervous if I were really junior on the E175 in SFO with a bunch of senior CRJ FOs in SFO, LAX and FAT who would potentially knock me way down if a Delta contract shows up. There could be massive growth on the plane and massive attrition which would make it not matter, but to me it seems like a roll of the dice. You could get stuck at the bottom for years.

The 10 people ahead of me in my domicile were in the new hire class before me though. I'd be about 25 spots senior company wide if I managed to take a class a week earlier. There's also a lot to be said for just that one day of seniority.

 

Another reason is that a lot of people are waiting to see how the lines are going to go. Right now out of ORD you'll be flying between IAD, YYC, and NYC every day. Not a lot of variety or good overnights. Thats a factor too.

 

Commuting is also a problem for Ejet guys because they cannot even so much as jumpseat on any delta (even SKW) operated flight...

 

Chances of Delta contract showing up is quite slim because as far as I understand it they are maxed out on scope in that regard unless we swap 900s. A big factor for not changing over for a lot of FOs between 4-7 years seniority is that they know upgrade is coming and why change planes and upgrade at the same time or change planes just to potentially upgrade on the CRJ. Whilst there are more overnights being added the trip variety in ORD on the 175 is terrible with 80% or more of the pairings being 4 days, if thats your thing then great.

 

Thats about 3 months ago, SFO, SAT, AUS, ATL,MCI,STL amongst others have been added.
