I think the biggest deterrent to women pursuing commercial aviation is simply not knowing about it. Most female pilots I know, including myself, have a dad who was a pilot and got into it early. The other deterrent is the schedule, which may improve as airlines hopefully try to improve conditions to retain pilots. Having a family and being away is tough but doable. I have to give all the fathers & their families credit with the low pay and unpredictable schedules. It's a lifestyle my traditionally structured family friends balk at and discourage me from pursuing. It's a different kind of life for sure.

1st sentence wouldn't really be a deterrent as much as a "reason". You know...because...grammar. Can't you edit these things???

This kind of stuff just makes my blood boil. Are there any lights on in there?
Do yourself a favor before it's too late. Listen to those that have come before you. If not for your own well being, then for those that come after you. Stop selling this career down the river. Stop stripping this down into a shell of what it once was. For the love of god this is the first time in almost 20 years we have any leverage. Even in the modest level that is the regional model, we have leverage. And we still have to convince our own? Talk about the beaten wife syndrome.

For those who think we would just get reflowed allllll over. How? Our turns are way to short, our precious performance would tank. A real problem is those pesky cameras on the efb man, they could turn those on and watch us flying. Yikes bro.

You take it easy. What's wrong with you? Let's make some gains. They don't have to financially burden SGU's house boat parties one iota! And we can still make gains! Why are you so willing to strap yourself with the yoke. Once it's on they won't take off. Wake up man. It can still be a win win.

This reflow policy stinks. If you are a commuter and have a nice 4 day that they take away and give you 4 locals you just went in the hole buying hotels in base. The notification is where I really have a problem.

Movenup, ever think of a piece of tape on the camera eye.

Reflow policy means nothing if you turn your tablet off between flights and don't turn it back on until you get in the airplane. Personally, I plan to have the cell data OFF at all times. The only way we get screwed is if SAPA gives and allows the language "cell data must be on at all times" and/or "pilots are required to be notifiable via efb."
The reflow policy is fine because it gets us paid for what already happens.
Just my 2 cents.
