We need to stop trying to help a certain group and work on gains for all the pilots. Every pay package we get pits the pilot group against each other.

First it was the EMB guys that needed to be brought up, and we would work on everyone else after that. Then it was the new hires and everyone else after that. I would say that we need to work on QOL things for everyone that would be better than pay increases. But since anything we try (like 4:1 trip rig) will just be manipulated by SGU with no gain for the pilot group.

what good is a trip rig if the trip is a schedule 80TAFB 4 day but it gets delayed day 4 for 5 hours. THAT'S what matters. we work, we should get paid. no one stays in SGU without getting paid, why do we keep doing so?

Yah, I am a first year guy. Someone who prior did contract negotiations. I never said you got a good deal, I just said that your first year needed to come up to match the other top regionals. If you don't have people coming in the door, it doesn't matter if 2nd year and up is making a million and hour and totally happy, you will fail. First year HAD to come up and my guess that was the first priority. It was a **** poor negotiation, but really in the end you can't negotiate, because you have no one actually representing you. Either way, this round 2nd year and up needs the best deal.

Not everyone. The regionals hire everyone whether they'd be remotely qualified for a major or not. There are a lot of regional pilots who will never get a major job because the majors are really strict about things regionals don't care about (no college degree, bad GPA, DUIs, too many checkride failures, etc). The majors aren't going to hire me which is why I came to Skywest. It's probably going to be the last regional standing and will give me the best career.

Sorry sweetheart, I forgot that you probably fall into the lifer group. Was it a DUI or are you just a jack*** in real life too and that prevents you from moving on? Either way, let's hope negotiations go better then last time and the pilot group doesn't cave after the company gets the main part they want.
