The majors aren't going to hire me which is why I came to Skywest. It's probably going to be the last regional standing and will give me the best career.
I realize there are exceptions. That's why I said, "most."

[QUOTE=WaterRooster;2143158]Yah, I am a first year guy. Someone who prior did contract negotiations. I never said you got a good deal, I just said that your first year needed to come up to match the other top regionals. If you don't have people coming in the door, it doesn't matter if 2nd year and up is making a million and hour and totally happy, you will fail. First year
HAD to come up and my guess that was the first priority. It was a **** poor negotiation, but really in the end you can't negotiate, because you have no one actually representing you. Either way, this round 2nd year and up needs the best deal.[/QUOTE

let me guess again 2nd year and up deserve more because your are now or soon to be second year payscale

Sorry sweetheart, I forgot that you probably fall into the lifer group. Was it a DUI or are you just a jack*** in real life too and that prevents you from moving on? Either way, let's hope negotiations go better then last time and the pilot group doesn't cave after the company gets the main part they want.

I'm sure we'll settle for another 1% bump for all payscales other than first year and something like delta bennies for the 175 guys across the board. That or a free coat.

Thank you. This is something I hardly ever hear brought up during pay negotiation time but it's probably the thing that personally bothers me the most with our pay package. I fly a lot of 11+ hour duty days. We only get premium pay when a day is SCHEDULED over 12 hours. I can't count the number of times I've had flow, maintenance delays, etc that have pushed a day over 12 hours but received no premium pay. Changing the wording from scheduled to actual would have benefited me far more this month than the extra 50 cents per hour did.

Things like that, reserve proffering, limits on ready reserve and TDY could be a huge pay raise or a big benefit to the pilot group and some of them barely cost SGU anything. Lets work on these things instead of begging for 50 cent per hour raises.

As much as I don't want to admit to it I'd probably bend over for Delta benefits across the board for the 175. Lack of Delta and American benefits is the sole reason I haven't transitioned to that plane. For me and my family Delta benefits are a huge deal. I realize not everyone else travels or cares as much as I do (as evidenced by the size of the transition bid list).

I've read this quite a few times. I still haven't fully figured out what makes delta bennies superior. I've gathered that basically United seems to routinely be oversold which makes domestic travel difficult, is there more to it than that?

Upgrades are free on DL. Not a big deal domestically since everyone and their mother is eligible for the upgrade, but it's great when going international.
