I wish I could even remember to bid holidays like Memorial Day off.

The question was asked what good has a union done for it members in recent history? I simply answered the question and asked if Sky West offered the same. Why so defensive?

Because there are quite a few of you that come on to this thread and try to bring up the need for SkyWest to unionized. I like to bring to their attention that we have already had the opportunity and we've turned it down. Now the last vote was 8 years ago and nobody here cares enough to start a drive, the last guy that did went to Atlas. (thats how much hope he had)

Do you think a union is really gonna get us PBS transparency or a reserve rewrite?? We can have a union or SAPA and it will make no difference. The company will do those things whenever they see fit.
I think we are the only company that hides the bids, and it's complete crap

We don't need a union at OO because for the most part management isn't out there to screw us over like management at Envoy, TSA, former Colgan, Comair, PSA and so forth succeed in doing so. Also, I don't want to pay my hard earned cash to a worthless (to regional pilots) organization like ALPA.

You haven't been here long. I picked up a 1.5 time trip last week when they called me. I got half way to the airport and they called and said it was cancelled but thanks. Then they removed it with no pay and said there was nothing I could do about it.

Yep, you could of gone home and got paid if you a contract. Depending on the trip that right there would of paid your union dues for a couple of years.
