So, I have interviews scheduled with Express Jet and SkyWest. Reading both related blogs on here, there is a ton of hate and discontent on both. I get that, regional life isn't going to be the best. Just looking for any recommendations. I reside in the Orlando area, so if I were to get on with SkyWest, what is the situation at IAH as far as being able to get that as a base, upgrade time etc?
Keep in mind that most (not everyone) people that post on these forums are sour and don't like their jobs/where they work for various reasons. That's why you read about so much "hate and discontent". It's like looking at restaurant reviews online. Typically the ones that take the time to write a review are the ones that are really upset with their dinner/service. It's not as common for someone to review if everything was fine/as expected.
Anyway..
I would suggest Skywest over Expressjet. I think Expressjet is a good company with good people but I have friends there that were on reserve forever and upgrade times aren't good.
Skywest you won't have to be on reserve (aircraft and base depending) and upgrade is somewhere around 2.5 years as of right now (always subject to change of course)

A buddy of mine right out training on the ERJ got LAX. He wanted ORD base. So that was surprising to hear...

I have just been accepted into OO so very excited to start and have dates for CTP and CRJ Ground School.

After DTW and MSP, what are the next most junior bases on the CRJ please?

Thank you
DTW /Msp/ord

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just see what happens.

I'm not opposed to relocating and certainly don't want to commute for any extended period of time so maybe living in or nearby base will be best.

Sounds like IAH is for sure closing which is a shame. I'd like to see some things change in the coming months that allow it to stay open because I was hoping for IAH.

It looks like they've have put new hires on the ERJ into LAX, SFO, and PDX recently. SEA has a list 20+ long waiting to get in.

Which they will burn through in the next few months with the Delta birds coming online.
