I don't understand why people are toting current upgrade times as factors for new hires. When I was hired upgrade times were at 7 years. But growth was approaching and there were not a lot of people hired between now and then. So it dropped from 7-2 years in a matter of just 2 years.

In the last two years since I was hired there have been nearly 1400 people hired there. If you want my guess, the upgrade will probably be 4-5 years for someone starting at OO now.

Indoc and systems for CRJ are in SLC. ERJ is in Denver. Sims could be the same place or anywhere else in the world Sims exist.

Blackwing, do you know of any other regional airline that goes this extra mile in their training department?

I'm sure ExpressJet. I would imagine Endeavor, perhaps Republic. Not sure about Compass. Is there a way to tell?

Thanks for any help!

Things are moving so fast I doubt it would ever go that high. You say 4-5 years for someone hired today - but there are more mandatory retirements at the majors in the next 4-5 years than there are regional pilots.

Are the cadet pilots getting seniority numbers ? Exactly what/when is their DOH?
Thanks!

They may have employee numbers but as far as their seniority is concerned it's their first day of class. Seniority in class is determined by the last 4 of your SSN with 0000 being senior and 9999 being junior. The cadets are the exception to that - they are first in class followed by everyone else. Considering huge classes are being run every two weeks it'd certainly be nice to be ahead of a few more people but it's not a game changer by any means.

Rather shocking if you ask me. Someone who has already put the time in to get hired and have a student who may have a private or be flight instructing upgrade ahead of you someday.
Thanks again for the info!

How could they upgrade ahead of you? Your employee number and actual pilot seniority number is not the same thing! As a cadet you get an employee number but you don't get your actual pilot seniority number until day one of class.
