Sorry for so many questions guys, last one regarding PDX with the E175... If PDX is the place I would like to end up if possible, what is the outlook on that of a new hire? Straight to ORD for awhile I am assuming? I heard the 175 is pretty backed up? I'm still reading through all these pages trying to get all the info I can, just didnt see anything for pdx was all.

Is PHX is really senior? Thinking about making the switch because committing sucks. Also do they make people with current airline experience do things like draw the electrical system?

They might make you draw a simple diagram, if you're typed on something Skywest flies you'll def have to know what you're talking about even if you can't draw it. |

So what part are you saying was speculation? Those guys should have never been subject to that for the reasons they give. You can think what you like but the company or SAPA did not help them.

With thousands of pilots retiring from the major airlines over the next twenty years, it appears that the regionals could have a difficult time hiring and retaining pilots. Is there a good chance that SkyWest could dissipate along with other regional carriers?

When a pilot is hired, if they choose the CRJ do they fly all systems (200, 700, and 900) or does one pilot only fly the 200 and another pilot only flies the 700 and 900?

Well I don't know what to tell ya. Generally you will see them pop up a week or 2 after class starts. I wasn't added to the list until about halfway through week 2. Typically they show up at the bottom of the list, and are integrated into the proper order several days later.
If those 9998 and 9999 numbers were those that have class dates but had to defer for military or other stuff, or cadets that have employee numbers, that would put our overall number at 3933. And 100 people in the training pipeline, which sounds way more realistic than the 200 people that it shows now. And FWIW someone I know that recently started class showed up on the seniority list the Friday before class started and put in the right order (based on SSN) by the end of the second week. So it seems like they are adding pilots to the seniority list earlier than when they have in the past. |
