Yes sir. I got the impression that this is a unique situation. I also feel like I'm being offered the illusion of a choice. If they can't get anyone else to accept it I think a couple of us are off to the ERJ.
I should also point out that the company is fat on ERJ reserves, yet us CRJ guys can never, ever drop a single trip because of 'insufficient reserves.' In 2 years flying the line I have been able to drop 2 turns. Not 2 trips. 2 turns. |

I would be seriously ticked if I was halfway through systems (the worst point in training, IMHO) and I then was told to switch to a new airplane and start systems all over again. Sheesh.

NorCal and SoCal are run the leanest, so no one can really drop trips in those bases on the ERJ either. |

They're calling and offering ERJ slots to the current CRJ class, should we take it?

Only can become more probable if you can put butts in those seats, and keep CASM within a margin that makes it worth while.

I guess that is what happens when you have an EB that doesn't have to fly the line and doesn't understand what is needed for QOL improvements. If only they would've listened to the line pilots that said the MSR wouldn't be worth anything. |
I dunno, I might say go for the 175 at this point.
The fleet is doubling, many FO's wont bid it because it's either not in their base or the seatlock would prevent upgrade. That could all change at the drop of a hat..... It's going to shake things up one way or another. |

41% reserve coverage for ORD 175 for the months of August/September and all the other 175 bases only average 15% combined. I have said for a long time that we could transfer some of the reserves west to cover the other bases if SGU cared about QOL at all. Too bad we didn't get a minimum reserve requirement on our last pay package. Instead we were given some meaningless MSR that just allows the company to cover open time for 115% and 130% instead of the 150% (minimum) it should be.

I've asked the same question for months, why 40% reserve staffing in ORD on 175 but the rest of the ERJ domicile are below min reserves months after month. Well last standing bid, every single person that wanted out of ORD on the ERJ was awarded elsewhere and got out. I don't think the issue is with SGU, ORD 175 guys don't want to transfer out. The only fix is to force guys out of ORD who don't currently have a standing bid to leave. The past few new hire classes aren't even touching ORD on the ERJ. The needs are all West coast.
