It's funny you think that way, 12 months ago LAX didn't exist. PDX had barely and 175's and SEA had only a few as well. We got DL flying announced a year ago and Just 3 months ago finally got official word SEA and LAX is where they were going and we still don't know how many are going to LAX and when. So how sir do we magically predict the future and put pilots places where we don't yet know for sure we will need them????

I'll wait.

The reason for the over staff was do to what's going on right now 6 planes a month. You have to "pre-train" for that...

In a competitive market, buy doing such you run a large risk of losing traffic to other carriers simply because you cannot offer the same schedule and frequency. Combine that with connection traffic into major hubs, you could get yourself behind the 8 ball quick.

Yes. Customers prefer frequency, they want to travel on their schedule, ie not arrive at 0830 for a 1530 meeting, nor have a six hour airport appreciation waiting for their connection. Leave a gap like that and the competition will fill it quick-like.

I feel the major reason the 50 seat RJ's gets such a bad rap is because the majors were using them on routes they should have never been flying on in the first place. I think its great the majors are finally realizing that the regional model needs to be fine tuned. I am still not sold on what they think the marketplace is for the E175 however....

The only routes that RJ's "have no business being on" are those which don't make business sense. If the pax are willing to buy tickets and be jammed into an RJ seat for 3.5 hours that's their problem. Until the "bill of rights" gets expanded to cover seat spacing vs. flight duration.

E-jet to MSP? Heard that may be announced this fall... Just a rumor at this point though.

Thinking about Skywest, be ready to start in a month - interested in MSP, how long to get there and how long to hold a line (currently, I understand **** changes) thanks !

You can get MSP immediately out of training and will spend about a month, maybe two on reserve depending on your class seniority (based on your last 4 of your social)

0 months and 0 months. You will likely be a line holder in MSP before you finish training. You'll finish out the month on reserve after completing IOE.

That would be great for those of us in MSP but highly highly unlikely.
