2008-2010 were great for QOL, as long as you could live on 74 hours/month. Work was 100% voluntary.

Normally my wife asks: what day do you go back to work next week?

Back then she asked: are you going to work next week?

In open time I see some trips are an orange color and the legend says "open time restricted"? what does this mean?

Most of the times people exchanging for vacation time and/or dropped and captain is an LCA so trip can be used for IOE without displacing someone. Most of the times they just put it that way so no one can pick it up and they'll give it to reserves. Call and ask about it, you might get it

You can exchange any trip you have for the restricted trip, as long as it is over the exact same days.

Is the costly leather jacket worth the price?

If not what do you wear with the blazer in the winter months?

I'd say it's definitely worth it if you are the FO and will be based anywhere with snow. All those walk-arounds in the winter up in the north make you glad it's not just a sweater.

It would be nice though if the softshell jacket could be worn at any base.

It is a high quality jacket.

It's pricey but it's a quality jacket and well worth it in the winter. A sweater won't cut it in Calgary in the middle of winter.

With the blazer you can also get the all weather overcoat.
Single-Breasted Overcoat - Uniforms - Products

Keep in mind that the hat is required when wearing the overcoat.

I got the leather jacket and am pretty impressed with it. It's definitely heavy duty.
