5 per year. Same for seniors and new hires. They are awarded by seniority. You need to request them (via Skedplus+) before the 1st day of the month priot to the month you want them. Pretty much gives you an extra day off. If you are on reserve and the golden day falls on a day of reserve, you can either take that extra day off, but 4:12 hours will be taken from your user/vacation bank, or move the reserve day to another day in that bid period (this has to be requested before the 24th of the month prior). Sucks when you are on reserve, as a line holder it gets better.
You cannot use them on a holiday, or day before or day after.
They are useful, to ensure you get important days off (kids bday, anniversary, etc) as long as they don't fall on a holiday.

Im thinking nice job of the crew to not say anything or do anything. Granted .04 in allot of people is basically a beer so whose to say what was what. Being from Utah they also probably had no idea what a beer was either
