It looks more like 5-6 months after completion of IOE for DTW, MSP and ORD. CRJ staffing has improved on the FO side over the last year or so. Not that it shows in any ability to drop trips but the immediate move to a line as we have seen in the past is not happening right now.

Having said that, I think that SKYW is still on of the better if not the best package out there.

We are in no way over staffed on CRJ or ERJ.

So end of July new hires holding a line in ORD?
Even looking at PBS numbers in SkyWestOnline shows 144 target line holders for December. 144 on a seniority list in ORD was hired end of February, not July.
So if 9 months is roughly 4 months than yes it's correct.

Three months of training, the way ppl talk on here it's like they sat reserve the entire time

still the right play to take crj over the 175 if ORD is your base of choice, right?

For holding a line yes, there's movement on 175 but all west coast. May see some FOs move out west but only time will tell with that.

Reality is for most of the bases CRJ is as overstaffed as ERJ used to be. New hires needs to be ready for that, and not to expect line right out of training. It's no longer the case.

You sit reserve for three years and then you have something to complain about. Must be rough flying 30 hours a month....

Any insight as to crj reserve times at ORD? Was asked a couple of pages ago, but no replies. I have been told it is now like 9 months where it was almost nonexistent a month or two ago.

There's going to be a lot of growth coming up in ORD with the American 700s. They've awarded 50 captain upgrades to ORD in the last two months. The most junior captain at the company is now ORD and not DTW or MSP anymore.

The reason reserve times have increased is most likely because they're increasing staffing for that new flying. Be patient and you won't be sitting reserve for 9 months in ORD.

Is Delta getting any of the 700s from United or are they all going to American?

Yes, a handful but mostly replacements for older 700s.
