The last 2 months it's been net negative. In September and October more pilots quit than were hired.

Does anyone utilize the employee stock purchase program? I enrolled last month for $60/mo and they sent me an email saying it will begin Jan2017. SKW stock is high at the moment (hint hint why we aren't getting bonuses and raises... they are making too much money to share).. but I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to enroll or hold off. I can't seem to find a lot of info on the rewards of the program or how it works outside what they went over during indoc.

Hey guys, I'm an Air Force pilot who will be applying to SkyWest shortly. Two things. Does a C-130 type rating get you the $7500 bonus? On the SKW profile on APCs website talking about the bonus, it says "turbojet," so I want certain about a C-130. (There certainly are things we can get away with in a turboprop that you can't in a turbojet, so I can see why they'd focus on jets only) And can someone who had used mil leave tell me a bit about the process? Likes and gripes.

Much appreciated.

Pretty sure you will get it, the guidance is type rating pic/sic on a aircraft 12,500 pounds or greater. I'm not military but I know that Skywest is very military friendly with regards to ppl needing leave.

Just submit your leave and you get it off. I've never been denied

It had gone over 4100, I watch it pretty closely for no particular reason.

Where would one find a copy of the pilot contract, agreement, or whatever it is called?

A great deal depends on where flying moves (UA 700s going away, AA 700s joining the fleet, DTW final size not yet determined). As an FO you should be able to transfer into either base on a monthly basis, so if you feel like changing your mind you can with little trouble.

Thanks for the info, I suppose I'd lean towards getting higher seniority faster, even if the schedules aren't great at first. The recruiters were mentioning that a lot can change by the time I finish IOE but that as of right now DTW would fit my desires the most.

Since DTW is a new base, is it going to be temporary? Did SkyWest pick up routes that were previously operated by Endeavor or some other regional? I had assumed they'd grow DTW as long as they can staff it.
