No, there are also some people who are not willing to take a chance and I've met some of them. I'm sure there are folks who will not admit that the real reason is fear.

As long as we fly for United flowing through Iah is like flowing through EWR except Iah is hanging on by a thread. Though I think you are right that something changed since this domicile closure has been painfully slow and has allowed transfers in. It makes me think that there might have been some credence to the rumor that United was taken off guard (disliked?) that when oil tanked and they cut flights out of there while simultaneously awarding all the 175 flying to Mesa that we would actually pickup and move out.

Good to know, though you can put in a standing bid as early as ground school after the initial award. Looks like there weren't nearly as many sfo awards as anticipated in the vacancy report. I thought they are all assigned by the 1st ? So is the award process over for the month ?

"Contract"
I'm curious what the SKW pilots plan is once St. George has gutted ExpressJet then comes for your contract?

I believe SW is looking at this trend and trying to stay ahead of the majors, which will only allow SW to pick up flight from other regionals, that will not able to fly them.
Unless the economy tanks, SW will only experience further growth and higher attrition rates.
About the only thing, other than the economy tanking, that I can see slowing upgrades is an increase in the retirement age.

We don't have a contract technically. It's a pilot policy manual that management and the pilot group is held to. It is working fine. Growth is still occurring on both fleets, upgrades continue to drop, attrition is happening faster than ever and we are actively seeking new contracts. We also don't wish any of what is happening ExpressJet on their pilot group. These are good people and it's not the fault of either pilot groups.

We don't have have a contract. If we did I don't think management would gut both sides. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we empathize with our brothers at XJT. We don't wish this on them, and don't want to benefit from their pain. This is all the result of the bean counters in SGU. The pilots over here have nothing to do with it. No votes have been cast on it. We can't vote to begin with.
