We don't have have a contract. If we did I don't think management would gut both sides. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we empathize with our brothers at XJT. We don't wish this on them, and don't want to benefit from their pain. This is all the result of the bean counters in SGU. The pilots over here have nothing to do with it. No votes have been cast on it. We can't vote to begin with.

still...

I understand that. But once they have gutted XJT, they will come for SKYW's compensation. Not suggesting the pilots there have any say in what they are doing elsewhere... but that is how all this works.

If they did, no one would come to work here. We're already lacking as is in new hire pay. Any further decrease would turn many potential people away.
What you say may ring true during a downturn, but definitely not in today's environment.

I don't see that continuing....they've just about completed 175 deliveries and the DTW base is about as big as it's going to be. Those were two huge growth factors over the past couple of years.

The company has been planning behind the scenes.. adding 2 sims closer to home ( 2 DEN CRJ) but continues to hold all the time on sims in CVG and ATL. Plus 3 matrix devises with full flight controls to cut out procedures training in the full motion sim... they have been planing on having resources ready.. what other airline has done that...??.. My take. They jnow only the strong will survive.. a airline with vast resources, good qol, decent pay, quick upgrade.. they have been solidly delivering that for a long time now..

Good to know, though you can put in a standing bid as early as ground school after the initial award. Looks like there weren't nearly as many sfo awards as anticipated in the vacancy report. I thought they are all assigned by the 1st ? So is the award process over for the month ?

Yes it is. I also meant you can't bid for a schedule in PBS until after IOE so until then it doesn't really matter that much where you are based.

You can bid for the following month if ioe is all scheduled by the 7th of the month prior...

On your schedule but all set to be completed... not just 1 trip...

Blackwing 04-01-2017 04:03 PM

IOE must be complete. They won't add you to the bid til the training dept releases you to the line.
