If someone gets bypassed out of seniority order (because they need them in the right seat), then they get CA pay while keeping their FO seniority... not horrible.

It *should* be seniority order regardless. If junior ERJ folks are sniveling because someone senior on the CRJ got "their" upgrade... don't know what to say to that.

Good for him/her. They also get the longevity credit? I hope so. In fact, I hope all ASA pilots can do this if the want. It should just be offered to them, no questions asked.

Some part 135/charter 91 hours qualify, but essentially it's hard requirement because it's not in company SOP but FARs §121.436
For prior part 121 folks, it will definitely drop significantly. It already happened once when in March award dropped to 9 months,
with a current grow and a lot of senior FOs bypassing for QOL and waiting for home base, I think no later than January it will basically be direct entry CA program for qualified new hires.

It will never drop below 1000 hrs part 121 (or 500 hrs for prior military).
