Maybe the beginning of an uptick. Maybe not.
Yep instead of a flattening of the curve, we need a U shape in this curve!

Not one soul knows what will happen. Best be prepared for some life changes.

Thankfully, I've been prepared since it looked like the Max wasn't coming back any time soon. Doesn't make the prospect of being on the street in my late 40s any more pleasant.

Exactly Right!! ‘Queen Air Hawaiian Boy‘ just likes to stir the pot because he despises SWA (probably turned down multiple times). We’ll be seeing him soon at the Big Kahuna Burger on Kuhio when he asks all the SWA crews that famous five word question, “You Want Fries With That?”

Zap, I've seen your resume' on the swapa forums.
You've been thru a lot. I have to really agree with a few of the others here though: it's way too soon. Literally nobody knows what 5 weeks will look like from now, let alone 5 months. I can say though that after watching Gary's vids, I think that things will improve over the summer. I do think that people will finally understand that life is a risk in and of itself.
Also, given the new numbers of people infected, it's now known that the mortality rate is less than that of the flu.
I truly wonder if there were no 24 hour news cycles, would people be acting as crazy as they are.
I think they wouldn't.
hang in there all; we're gonna be ok.[

Update to my previous post on DL's forecasted numbers, Someone on the SWAPA forum posted a screen shot for DL's Nov 2020 requirements from widgetseniority.com. Widgetseniority.com looks like it's similar to myseniority.com. They are showing 7,370 total pilots required versus a total of 13,063 required today. That's a reduction of 5,693 pilots or 43.6%. APC is showing that DL has a total of 14,600 pilots, not 13,063.

I don't know if these numbers are accurate, but widgetseniority.com looks like it's a pay site, so I'm going to assume DL pilots wouldn't be paying for the service there if it hasn't been somewhat reliable in the past.

Also, ya, I know, if these numbers are for Nov 2020, even if they're accurate today, they could change wildly in the next weeks and months. And more importantly, they could have even been leaked as FUD numbers by DL management to scare DL pilots into accepting concessions. Who knows?

Fake news? You decide.

Loon,

If you're right, and I sincerely hope you are, find me on any overnight anywhere in the system and your drinks are on me.

If I'm right, and I truly hope that I'm not, please don't pick up open time from the company while I'm on the street.

I just wish that people would stop negotiating against themselves on forums that management can see and preemptively lowering the bar for everyone. It took what? Four years to secure contractural gains and I’ll be damned if I’m going to give those up especially so prematurely. A little self-respect people!!!!

Hear hear!! I'm a little junior to you Zap and agree with Whack on this one. If I get furloughed, so be it.. Should it happen, I want a good job waiting for me when I get back.

I spent 20+ years doing labor negotiations on both sides of the fence and that included direct union involvement as a union official to go on strike years ago.

If anyone on APC really thinks that what is written on these types of forums has any effect whatsoever on how management chooses their strategy then you’re some kind of dumb. The only thing they use these boards for is to seek TROs when idiots post job action propaganda as it serves for hard evidence in court.

Thinking that a handful of keyboard warriors who are the same cast of characters day in and day out moves the scale one way or the other in negotiations is just plain stupidity.
