If anyone on APC really thinks that what is written on these types of forums has any effect whatsoever on how management chooses their strategy then you’re some kind of dumb. The only thing they use these boards for is to seek TROs when idiots post job action propaganda as it serves for hard evidence in court.

Thinking that a handful of keyboard warriors who are the same cast of characters day in and day out moves the scale one way or the other in negotiations is just plain stupidity.
You’re being ignorant if you don’t think that forums aren’t used to gauge the pilot group’s sentiment by management. Also, let’s not forget about the management stooges on the SWAPA forum. One of them being buddies with Kuwitsky.

IF we come back, it would be nice to come back to a decent contract. Any furloughee that waits around for a recall is only doing themselves a disservice. Move on, find another gig, hopefully it ends up being better than the one you left.

MAYBE all of the above is true.

But maybe it’s not.

And why were you involved on both sides of the fence (labor and management) at your last airline? We’ve had plenty of our own SWAPA turncoats over the years who have harmed the pilot group’s efforts by playing both sides of the fence - the most prominent recent example being CK. SWAPA won’t even attend meetings when he is present given the level of betrayal that is represented by him playing on SWAPA’s side and now, playing on management’s side.

Even if what you said was true at whatever airline you came from does not mean that the same is true at SWA.

The fact is that airline management DOES read these forums. Why give management any more information than we have to?

Late 2015 hire. No concessions at all. No one is guaranteed a damn job in this world. We all know people who have “real” jobs that have lost them and have had to adapt and overcome. Know your profession. Anyone who has come to a major within the past 10 years surely must know of its pitfalls and should have a Plan B.... well, here we are. Start looking at your Plan B. Adapt and overcome. Hope to see you all on the line come October, and if not, then as quickly as possible.

Well the first LCC mgmt team is going for the "concessions or else" mode already. Let's work to make sure this does not spread industry wide:

Management ask: Furlough 40%, forgo seniority

Can we please knock off the defeatist talk about concessions?! Notice the Kompany has yet to talk about or offer early retirements? Hmmmm, maybe because they see an opportunity to capture some serious market share on the back end of this?

I agree, I am optimistic as this is such a dynamic time. This could go about a dozen which ways, but I do see an opportunity here on market share. I think June will be really telling as this plays out for another month. Keep showing up and stay safe out there. I still believe this is an incredible company with an incredible pilot group.
