except it really isn’t out of character. Go read his posts between the SWAPA forum, the FB page (from which he got banned) and the rumor network site. It is not at all out of character.

Do not expect SWAPA to contribute to that at all as that kind of mandate would obviously involve potential legal risk to our union. It needs to come from a grassroots effort from the pilot group to paint voluntary open time pick up with folks out on furlough as behavior akin to scabbing.

This talk is premature anyway, but perhaps the seed needs to be planted in people’s minds now. As Zap mentioned, this is uncharted territory (should a reduction of staff happen) for many within our ranks.
It wouldn't be hard to do. If the worst comes to pass, screen shotting every base's OT awards everyday a SWA pilot is unemployed and blasting it far and wide until a cease and desist letter shows up would at least be a start on the public shaming.

Every 89 trips picked up from OT is one man-month of employment the pilot group collectively took from a furloughed SWAPA member.

And SWAPA has, at least once (three little pigs), offered concessions to keep guys on property. Like anything this important, it'll come down to the members deciding what's more important to them. I'm prepared to accept the consequences in any case.

In any case, I'm getting out of the TP game and storing Oil in barrels in my basement as my hedge against a furlough. EPA.....What EPA?

This needs to be broadcast far and wide and made crystal clear between now and October.

Agree with the opinions of the SWAPA board. It takes a large amount of “filtering” and deciphering to get any kind of worthwhile information. Exhausting. I’ve pretty much given it up as well.

Honestly speaking, it would be nice to have a forum for F/Os who have other airline experience. (not a jab at exMil, TYFS)

Full pay 'til the last day. I'm on the cusp of a 2500-3000 person furlough(which is possible). I'd rather get furloughed than take concessions.

there are plenty of non-mil anti union guys at SWA...at other airlines mil guys seem to “get it”...I think it’s a SWA problem, and a mentorship problem ...not a mil problem.

Do you consider reducing the line guarantee, with an agreement of a SnapBack a concession ?

Loon,
I think people's outlook and financial preparedness decides if they are in the concession or max pay group. I'm very hesitant to do any favors for mr Kelly, as he will not return the favor if/when this is over and we are taking truckloads of cash to the bank.
I would consider a temporary concession in exchange for equity, if it kept people on property. If demand doesn't come back fast though, we are all hosed.
