Thanks for the quick reply and for re-reading my post and the apology. A much welcome response on the Internet when someone can apologize and move on -- a rare behavior on semi-anonymous forums these days.
Best wishes to all of us in these crazy times.
Cheers!

I'm all civilian so no backup. I want our contract unchanged as well. If it came down to it and they said we can cut guarantee by X amount and save everyone, I would consider it if it had a trigger of BK or furloughs everything snaps back so SWAPA begins negotiating from where we were. With all that said, no amount of pay cuts will save this airline or furloughs with our current loads.

If there are concessions they have to have a specific end criteria with an immediate transition into the cba language the cnc proposed at the beginning of section six.
We’ll come out of this stronger than any carrier, there’s no reason to think we shouldn’t be the best compensated (before the other carrier’s concessions) as a result.

We have 18 billion in cash. The best credit rating. The ability to raise more cash. No one in management is talking furloughs and yet while the company has been walking all over our contract for the last 3.5 years people are willing to give more. Are you kidding me? Every week they find a way to disregard our contract and people convince themselves to trust the company. Everyone should go have a beer, enjoy the extra time off with pay and let the representation handle it for us.

It’s not the Guard/Reserve dudes saying this. The overwhelming majority of actively drilling SWA pilots don’t have a loud public opinion about this. It’s mostly let SWAPA NC do it’s job, and a concern that no fellow SWA pilot loses his/her means of putting food on the table.

I do not want want concessions either. If we did reduce the LG, it would have to have a snap back date. I also think the company realizes how much they over staffed.

I really hope that this will be a wakeup/lesson for the company on staffing. It's all great to have 14 reserves to cover open time until there is no open time to cover and you are now paying millions of dollars in line guarantee, insurance, and other fixed costs to staff an airline. I know SWAPA has been screaming about this for years.
All the whining about JAs in 2015/16 seems pretty eye rolling at this point. Imagine if we had kept the airline lean staffed how much money they would be saving and how much more we would potentially be making.
