I agree. 1221’ers are ready to do battle, not only for the WARN, but for sticking it out here when you can go be a CA in 5 minutes elsewhere.

It’s the CA’s that concern me. I fly with people who are so out to lunch it’s not even funny.

We’ll see. And I hope you’re right.

I was hired in 2015, a product of the Lost Decade and hired into 121 in January of 2000. A lot of my civilian classmates were in similar boats. While not a 1221’er in the end, I was in the bottom 20% and built a furlough fund all the same. I don’t think the bottom 20% will cave easily. We’ve been the long way around the barn.

The CA’s are the ones who concern me more too. But also consider that as FO’s we have less exposure to what the range of other FO’s think because the only FO’s we’re hearing much from are our self-selected group of friends. So, it’s possible that the FO’s as a whole aren’t that much different from the CA’s. I don’t know.

I’m just saying I’ve been around here a while. As others have said, we hire a certain type. I remember during the build-up to TA1 and TA2 trying to convince people to hold out for better, and the responses I’d hear were often mind-blowing in their acquiescence, out of touchedness, and unwillingness to hold out for more. Same thing during the -800 SL issue. It makes me think of the first part of the “Tears in the Rain” speech: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.” But then you’re saying you’ve heard similar things so I think you know what I’m talking about.

I think the way the company handled all that was worse than an actual furlough. They used 1221 of our coworkers as political pawns over Christmas just to get more free money.

An actual furlough would have been more respectful if it was what the company needed to do to survive. But that's not what they chose to do.

Was it the company or was it the pilot group that brought on the 1221? Legitimately asking, because I’ve heard both.

Started pandemic with 4 billion cash, when they sent out warns they had 3.5 billion after all debts paid. The “ten percent” they were asking for would have supported the company for I think one week, from the pilot group, 2-3 months from all work groups at the burn rate they were at. Aka, it wouldn’t have solved the “problem.” There was also some language they wanted which basically would have allowed them to do whatever they wanted for whatever reason they wanted - force majeure. Swapa proposed multiple solutions, and credit for what we’d already given, company said no. That’s just from what I can remember off the top of my head.

Amen! No voter here unless it’s industry leading career compensation with all old issues fixed.

just wondering where you heard it was the pilot group that brought on 1221 furlough warnings?
