There's a 2010 hire on the SWAPA forum who is looking at a 17 year upgrade and brings up some pretty good points as to why the rumors from check airmen and chief pilots may not truly come to fruition. I don't think he is being pessimistic, but rather pragmatic considering the 1000 pilots who had bypassed prior to the pandemic and the contradiction between rumors and aircraft orders and plans announced in the Q2 earnings call.

I hope Southwest can grow enough to expedite upgrades or it’ll be slim pickings and cargo/legacy rejects only coming to SWA. It sounds like year 5 FOs at United are ready to upgrade.

17 year upgrade, eh? Is that like 10 years to be a plug FO in ATL?
