Upgrade times

Maybe they applied and can’t get a interview. I love how everyone is like…why would anyone go to SWA or stay there? Maybe it’s because they’ve been trying for years and haven’t cracked the nut.
Took me 8 years to get the interview here. Month I started training UAL offers a interview. Turned them down. Never heard from FedEx, UPS, DL, or AA. Quit updating stuff the day I started class.

all I'm saying is since we dont have fast upgrades, variety of equipment or flying opportunities we better be years ahead on a contract alas we are not at the top of any of those. Hence, the comment of seriously why would people chose Sw unless the bases worked for were one lived etc

I get it. I have a few names on my personal captain avoidance list, but I think one or two of them left during the VSP. There are other names that I avoid if I can, but I'll fly with if I have to to make my schedule work. Sometimes I'll see their names pop up in ELITT on weekday trips and that makes me feel a little better that its probably more them and less me. My number one avoidance guy is an 80,000 number guy who I will never fly with again - I'll call in sick first. I don't see his name much, so I'm guessing that was just a personality conflict that went sideways. Probably as much my fault as it was his.

Different world than 5 years ago. Much easier to get an interview these days. If you can't get a call from DL/UA/FDX/UPS, a few months at SWA will very likely trigger the interview at those places (especially Delta).

Seriously. I'll run the radios and tune up navaids and sling gear all day. It pays exactly the same as trying to get 3000 feet of head up my @$$ 'whoopsies we're in VNAV SPD' back under control.

Oh, I get it now. You're a country is headed for the abyss guy. I was mistaking you for someone with rational thought.
Must be the socialists. Or is it the fascists? I can never remember. Guess I'll forget upgrade and get one of those Missile silo bunkers in South Dakota.

That’s not what I took from the article. Obviously in the short term you have to cut your flights if you don’t have the staff to fly those routes. That’s a good problem. Once you grow your staff the demand has proven to be there and then you can start increasing your flights again to booster profits. It would be different if the demand wasn’t there and the supply was over. They did the appropriate thing to cut the flights because If you just keep canceling flights your customers will go elsewhere. This will help the public perception from being on time and hiring and growing from there.
