I assume when you mean "application" you mean your pilot credentials profile?

If so, yes can make changes, and you should be making changes. At a minimum you should be updating your flight times and other things like receiving a new medical. I would submit now and upload the LORs as they come in. LORs are not scored as part of the application, they just need to be in before the virtual interview takes place (and they were allow exceptions to this recently).

Hi all,

Currently getting all my ducks in a row to submit my app during this current window. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on things. I do have a couple of questions though. I do have the notification of a gap in my employment (college). Will the current education that I have that is during those dates of unemployment suffice or is there a way that I can submit another work during that window and just label it as attended college? The next question I have is a little more broad. Are there any minute details within the app that could get it rejected or any gotchas when filling it out. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you all in advance.

Q:
I have gaps in my employment. What should I do?

A: We require every month during the last 10 years to be documented. We understand that you may have been in training, searching for a job, on a mission, raising a family, or unemployed for a period of time. For “Select employer from this list”, select “Not listed/other”. Select the applicable category under “Position/Description of Duties”, provide a brief description of your status during this time.

Not many of us have the inside info on the computer, but things I’ve heard:

Make sure EVERY box is filled in that needs to be filled in.

Make sure your flight time totals meet whatever minimums are, and that they add up.

if you have a specific question, ASK.

Also, it’s good to keep the same email throughout on the application pages.

Hired at 30. In the top 10% at 54, top 1% at 60, top 1 at 65. Just shows you what a difference a few years can make.

I recently ran the numbers for a friend of mine who's in his mid 30s. He would be in the top 150 or so. Every year you add to his age adds 100-300 pilots. So if you're under 35, you'll have excellent seniority prospects, but that number dwindles fairly rapidly for every year above that.

I've heard the every box thing is very important, to the point that you could probably benefit for filling in the text boxes on the questionnaire. If it doesn't apply to you, write "not-applicable".

Default A couple basic questions

I'm jumping on this current hiring window and heeding the advice in this thread. Thanks much. If hired, I'd be looking for an OAK base and wondering: how long I should expect to sit reserve; can I drop reserve; can I pick up flying on days off from reserve? Pretty basic questions that are probably answered elsewhere in the forum, but appreciate any help.

Can’t drop reserve but you can try to give it away. If you give it away, you can pick up something else (or trade it for some other flying too).
