True story about deck parties -
At the end of our "fly day", the instructor took us over to the deck party where they were celebrating SWAs first international flight.
Traditionally, the fly day class gets to cut the line and gets welcomed in because they are brand new to the company and we take care of our young. Instructor took us to the front of a long line for food and booze and a nasty troll that works in the GO made a HUGE stink about the pilots cutting the line. She was yelling at the top of her lungs and we told the instructor we were fine and that we would just wait. The instructor was clearly embarrassed and apologized.
A few minutes went by and we got in the back of the line. We all got some food and then noticed a stack of cases of beer that someone was trying to give away one beer at a time. We asked the beer guy what was up and he said they were closing up shop soon and that the beer would just be given away to whomever took it. We each grabbed a case and bolted that stupid party and went direct to the hotel and sat out by the pool and drank our faces off for the next 3 or so hours.
I have never and will never go back to another GO deck party. They aren't us and we aren't them. It's two different companies, and it took us one minute after our rah rah "fly day" to figure that out.

My first tip-off as an FNG, when it was still not uncommon to walk over to the GO for lunch from the old training center, was realizing my badge didn't work on the side door. Us lowly pilots had to schlep over to the main entrance and get the ID check from the security guard. In other words:

Not that I really want to be, mind you, it's just that putting up unnecessary partitions between groups is a lousy way to run a company. It has encouraged tribalism....and boy, has tribalism become a thing around here in the last two decades.

What do you expect , It starts from the top down. For the last 17 years the CEO has made it clear to everyone working at HQ that the pilots are the enemy at this company. Let’s not forget he outright calls the pilot group a bunch of plumbers.

check your app status on ICIMS. If it says “closed complete” expect a TBNT

Quick Q: On the pilot credentials website, it asks for all of your times in various makes and models. Some of the small single engine pistons I've flown are not listed. For example, the American Legend Cub is not listed but the Piper Cub is. I have time in both, so how picky are they if I just combine that time under the Legend Cub since they're similar?
I've heard stories about folks getting the TBNT due to inaccurate logbook records, so I just want to be sure I do my due diligence.
Thanks in advance!

Is there an other option? Also, you can always email them. I would also get someone to professionally review your app. I think mostly they’re worried about large time differences (like 100+ discrepancies. Not sure of a specific number but I’ve heard of hundreds of hours off on the high side on app.) They want you to be able to back up your claims on the app.

Also, it's been a long while since I've thought about applying for the airlines. Short story, I had some ground to make up for. Who do you guys all recommend for application/resume review and prep?
