Hiring 2022
#301
Looking for some clarification if anyone knows. The email I received from Southwest recruiting regarding the new FO opening states "First Officer job posting (#36838)." When I searched the careers site it listed an FO opening for #36839. Is the email listing number a typo, or do they have more than one new job posting? I know in the past they have opened separate listings for certain groups of people like hiring fair attendees, etc.
UPDATE: I received verification the listing number from the email is either a typo or the number was subsequently changed. There is only one FO opening for applications available.

My previous 2 apps still say Received Submission. Threw my hat in the ring for this new one too. Good luck everyone.
So I submitted an app to the October window, that submission still shows "Submission Received," however I applied this morning to the new window, updated my profile / etc, was successfully submitted. I just double checked the career portal and it says todays new submission is already "Closed/complete." Any clue what that means? (Beyond the obvious.) I'd assume if the computer didn't like my app, it would've tossed the October window application as well.
No one can say with 100% certainty, but it sounds like to me there is something in your application that is precluding selection by the computer. Have you done a prep service/app review?

Don’t think that the above wasn’t a motivation behind why SWA did what it did. The company is always playing “4D chess,” and almost always one step ahead in the labor relations department. Blanket approving all of the accommodation requests, especially during Section 6 negotiations, is a free way for the company to acquire major negotiating capital. They know our pilot group better than we know ourselves.

We did spend many years reinventing ETOPS however...

so the new hire has to know both sides of the cockpit duties, right?
