Unless you overblock, of course. That's my least common of adding to the credit, though. Many other work rules out there that will bump the paycheck up besides flying slow.

Default Newly created 1/11 new hire class date

Just curious if anyone in here has been moved into the 1/11 new hire class date that was created late this week. I moved up from the 1/25 and in contact with a couple of others that were offered the opportunity as well. Sounds like this class will be small. Not quite sure why it was added but glad to have the opportunity.

Got the email yesterday, and accepted. Moving up from 3/15. Christmas came a week late.

Flying slow is the least advantageous thing to do here as is starting the clock "to help out" like a lot of the "I just fly my line" CAs seem to do. Unless of course you're gonna over block anyway and you're already on a premium or DT trip.

Would you mind explaining the blank line? Is this assigned even more junior than a norm reserve schedule? Do people bid these? Sorry foreign concept to me!

Not necessarily. Because we don’t have PBS for the computer to automatically build your schedule around your training, vacation, mil leave, any trip that’s impacted is generally dropped into this bucket from which the company creates the second round of bidding for lines made up of trips that were dropped from the first round due to training, vacation, mil leave, etc.

During regular/first round bidding, I bid the lines I like, and then I round off my bid preferences by a few blank lines. This way, if I don’t get what I want in regular bidding, I get more seniority in blanks since far fewer people bid blanks.

Blanks can be decent, but they are made up of left over pulls and sometimes reserve so they generally trend toward the more junior.

Blanks are the creation of Vacation pulls, training pulls, etc. They are the leftovers and are bid on in the second round of bidding after the first round is done and vacation, training etc has been finalized.

Will the blank lines still have the min guarantee?

Blank lines...This explanation is an arbitrary numbers of lines and simplified a bit but the concept goes like this. Primary bid round, 100 lines, say 60 hard lines, 20 blanks, and 20 reserve. Hard lines will have your actual trips and designated reserve lines will be your actual scheduled reserve days, blanks will tell you nothing about what days you'll work till the second round. Once the first round bid is finalized all the trips and reserve blocks that are dropped from the hard lines and reserve lines by people's vacations(and other various pulls) will be used to build the blank lines. In a month with lots of people with vacation, maybe lots of trips, in a month with not a lot of people on vacation there may not be as many trips and they will add extra reserve blocks to build a blank line to guarantee. Once all the lines are built, only the pilots who were awarded blank lines in the first round will have a second round of bidding on the newly built blank lines. It varies month to month what the quality of blanks will be so how senior they go will vary but usually more senior than pure reserve but less than hard lines.
