Yep, blanks still pay at least guarantee.

Blanks can be exceptionally good if you get the top 5 or so. I’ve seen them with the last week and a half of December off, etc…
No guarantees though.

Benefit for junior pilots—if you can hold a blank line, you may end up with several trips you can ELITT (company trade).

Not quite sure why it was added but glad to have the opportunity.
i was moved up from 3/8 class date to 1/11. Looks like I have much more studying to do in the next week or so. Excited to get started

Slow your roll! You will have a lot of time to review stuff over and over and over. Enjoy time with your family until then. Congrats on the move up—even one class earlier will pay seniority dividends.

I'm really hoping to move up from 3/15 to the 1/25 class. Maybe you opened up a spot!! Congrats on getting in sooner!

nice response! Just small correction - 26.25 tfp OR value of trips dropped whichever is greater. So you drop two trips on either end and 40+ tfp for a vacation week isn’t hard. There’s some third party software that helps pick lines for vacation months for what you want.

That's true until it isn't. I can consistently hold the top 3-4 blanks and so there was a period of time where I was bidding them frequently.

Sometime last year, planning decided to cut the number of blanks, increase the number of reserves, and absolutely pack the blanks with flying. They were all 80 plus blocking, max flying day trips that bled over into weekends and monthly overlap.

I was the number two blank and I could have basically spun a wheel and bid the number that came up and the result was basically the same.

They just increased the available reserves again in November through March, resulting in basically the same thing, but now it is spread around to hard lines as well.

Forgive my stupidity on line bidding but how does a junior line holder know which lines they should try to bid / which ones will drop to them?
