That's true, but every regulation is there for a reason. History has taught us that we need to have those standards. Boeing actually ignored regulations to save money.

But to your point, how would the free market prevent this problem? To me, the 737MAX issue is a case of poor regulation and oversight. What's the free market solution?
The fear of going to prison due to negligence? Lobbying creates protection in layers. Not making an argument for zero regulation, there’s a happy medium.

Agreed, but case in point, the poster above you thinks the problem is the fact that new planes have to be certified in the first place.

He’s not a pilot, and also believes the 1500 hour should be abolished. Probably some self centered aviation business owner with his own self interests.

And many times the reason is because it lines someone's pockets.

But that's also why I'm throwing the idea out there in these threads, because if I am wrong and it isn't some sort of anti-free market propaganda, and is fairly accurate and neutral, then yes of course I'll watch it. So far I haven't seen a convincing argument that it is watchable.

Now that also being said, most film trailers these days suck and are not an accurate portrayal of the film. Just like junk mail's letter markings are not indicative of what's inside; it's designed to get the mail opened. Trailers are meant to get people to watch the film whether the trailer is an accurate reflection of the film or not.

So if someone can say with a straight face that this documentary is accurate and isn't a bunch of lefty propaganda then yeah I'll watch it.
Why don't you watch it yourself, and form your own opinion?

The assertions made are easily verified one way or another by checking out multiple sources if you doubt the documentary's veracity.

So you would put your family on a 737 with a 200 hour pilot?. That is the only thing fully verifiable about the whole Max fiasco. Why were the Us investigators not allowed in right away after the crashes?. Why was Boeing, the NTSB both stonewalled?

Man, Boeing was pretty much caught red handed here. Have you seen the internal memos that have been made public. They did everything they could to conceal the fact that this new system even existed and to make sure that regulators would not require additional training the to new variant. How they escaped criminal prosecution is a detriment to society. The whole situation stemmed from greed and nothing more. The NTSB doesn’t have jurisdiction in other countries and by no means was entitled to be there. They are not the end all be all of aviation accident expertise.
