uh we have nothing to do with them. You can’t just pick whatever group you want to compare yourself to. They should be looking at UA/DL/AA FA contracts. It’s what the nmb will go off anyways.

I heard the same thing goes on in hospitals. The florists, in the lobby, were waiting for the surgeons salary package to be released before they agreed to their package. Makes sense though…I mean, they work in the same building so there’s that. I’m also pretty sure florists train longer than FAs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

it’s stupid but I guess you gotta try and ride on whatever coat tails you can, even if it doesn’t make sense. Maybe we should look at the executive compensation for our pay then?

It blows me away that some pilots actually do that with the FAs. "They get such and such so we can too". The flight attendants and their contract occupies zero percent of my brain. It drives me insane that we are even discussing them and their voting schedule impacting our TA. No. Just no.

We will miss the November 30th deadline publicly, but behind the scenes the deal will essentially be done by the 30th. It will take 2-3 weeks for swapa and/or the company to announce the deal but it will have been done by a couple of weeks by that point. The key points being, in his words: “a huge contract.”
It’s going to cost the company a lot of money and they basically caved to the last couple of asks swapa made. Swapa is going to let the company look like the hero when they announce the deal but they bent over at the last minute and started agreeing to everything.”
Sent to me by a Navy friend based in MDW. Like all rumors take it for what it’s worth…😉

And separately…

My buddy just typed this up:
Just had an impromptu small group Q&A w/ the MDW rep in the lounge, here are the highlights. Per the usual, take it with as much faith as any other sidebar convos.
Overall “the big stuff is in there, of course there are still a few things I don’t love”
Company is taking disability, instead of STD & LTD it’ll just be “disability” and kick in 2-3 months (couldn’t remember specifically) at a rate of 50% of earnings with no payout cap. Disability AND MEDICAL will continue to FAA retirement age even if changes. SWAPA will still offer an optional STD in case you don’t want to use sick bank for those first 2-3 months. Napkin math works out for the monthly pay to be a slightly better deal for CA, slightly worse for FOs compared to current LTD.
Disability will also pay NEC
Anyone out on disability now will be brought in to the new plan, not left on the old ****.
Co-domiciles are already AIP’d, they got some good protections in there & should be good for growth but still some reasons to be skeptical.
ELITT cutoff goes from 4 days prior to trip start down to 24 hours. Can ELITT across months as well, I.e. move a November trip into December once December ELITT opens. Reserve ELITT will also be in there.
Commuter policy remains as-is, no positive space or pay protection. Apparently that one was one of the brick walls they ran into.
Top pay rates $320-ish per TFP. Wouldn’t commit to a number, but we bracketed him in pretty close to that. Definitely something between 737 & 75/76 rates at competitors though.
LCO will be good, listen to the podcast for more specifics.
Most importantly: Very much expect something to be AIP’d, or at least “agreed to” this week. Up to 3 weeks for the BOD to review & prep before release.
my vote is NO

320 is an auto no. No need to read anything further.

Just for comparison sake, 320 is roughly $8 less than 757-767 pay for ‘24 and beats every other 737 rate in the country. I’ll read it all and attend road shows, etc before voting.

The goal is NOT highest 737 pay or close to 757 pay. It’s career compensation! The rumored rate doesn’t do it. 👎
