Told my parents I wanted to be a pilot. They said, "Good luck....sounds expensive". Didn't give me a cent for college. Worked my tail off to pay for school with as few loans as possible. Went to a regional, paid off $40k in student loans in 5 years. Debt free except for the mortgage. Building a custom home with 0 financial help from anyone.
How is actually achieving industry leading 737 pay for the same guarantee considered rolling up short? I'm not content with good enough....I'm content with industry leading pay for the plane I fly. At the end of the day, if you compare 2,3,4 day trips to OAL's and I make more....I'm content. Right now that's not the case, with this CBA it will be or I'l vote no. My mom is plenty proud, thanks....I make nearly 4x what she does, do a fraction of the work, and have more in my 401k at 42 than she does at 64. Maybe don't treat your kid like they're a complete moron and they might be more responsive to advice you're giving. Or be a spiteful shrew and complain to a bunch of strangers that your kid is an idiot.

Do you ever think maybe the reason you are so fantastically wealthy is the fast that those before you at least tried to raise the bar? I see many of the same qualities in my own son, who in 20 years...I'm afraid will be just like you, willing to settle for less.

Thats not very nice that you flex on your own mother like that. I hope that makes you feel good being so special and all.

I won’t settle for anything less than what OAL’s earn. And most parents want their kids to be more successful than them. Mine is happy I get her free airline travel and vacations. She’s happy I didn’t come crawling back to live in her basement after I left at 18.

I CFI’d for $8/hr. Started flying a EMB-145 for $21/hr. Flew CA on it for $50/hr. Didn’t make over $100k a year until I had 11 yrs seniority and then gave up $40k a year to come here for $50/tfp.

You make your mother non-rev on SWA? That seals it.... especially with your fantastic wealth...you should buy her a ticket on a real airline like Delta.

Wow. I think you must be the "only" person that did that. If "only" was "everyone" for a few generations. Big deal golden boy.

I have a buddy at United who’s based in Orlando, does all his flying out of the Tampa co domicile.
he gets nearly an additional 300$ each pairing that he starts out of Tampa. Naturally he does all day trips now. Curious to see if we have something like that in our co domicile section.
Blah blah blah all made up garbage

This thread has turned into a dumpster fire. There are literally zero credible leaks, even the supposed TN upgrade class brief has zero corroboration.
Please everybody, stop feeding the trolls.
Many of the people in here who are straight staunch yes or no voters have argued against negotiating in public, which many of you are doing right now.
Just stop. It may be a turd. It may be phenomenal. It may have reasons for being either. Swapa may try to sell it, they may not, or there, much more realistically, will be a little bit of both. But we have no information yet.
We don't even have an AIP, let alone a TA. We may soon, but anybody who's "seen the 'contract'", including base chiefs, is full of horse... Stuff. You're lying.
I know we're all anxious. But this is hurting everybody.

I think he is a misguided young man. It must be all the wealth, lording over his own parents, and building a custom home. Someone with with this type of situation is likely very content with his good enough. He still has time.
