Is auto anti ice an option on the Max? It would make sense that our fearless leaders opted out to save a buck.

The only "auto" systems on our 737's are the probe heats and the electric bus ties... everything else requires a ( now better paid) plumber.

if you leave the anti-ice on while flying non icing conditions, it can melt the engine off the pylon. So the manual anti-ice isn’t even right in the max… the plane is a piece of junk

Incorrect. It can potentially melt the cowl inlet off the engine, not the engine off the pylon. Doesn’t that make you feel more warm and fuzzy?

This. They are worried about engine ingestion of the melted cowl or it flying off and damaging the fuselage.
