Default Anti-Ice Fix!

SWAPA sent out an email yesterday and deep in it, they said that Boeing had the fix for the cowl anti-ice flight tested and the FAA is happy with it.

All paperwork for it is now in the hands of the FAA so ultimately up to them to give the green light. Deliveries by Q4 is that the email said.

Deliveries of new cowls or MAX 7s is not specified, but seeing that the cowl was the final hangup on the 7, I think we could FINALLY see it certified really soon!

I don't think the MAX-7 even exists. Proof of it's existence is less reliable than all that stuff about how we sent people to the moon.

Had a chatty LCO in the jump recently. Said there's a chance Boeing could walk away from the -7 entirely, abandon the project. There's a healthy order book for the -8,-9, and -10. Meanwhile Swa is the only substantial customer for the -7 even WestJet converted their orders away from the -7

Don't know what an LCO is, but this fix the -7 needs (cowl a/i) is no different then the fix needed for all the other variants so doesn't make sense to abandon the -7 now and force SWA down the road by buying another airplane.

I'm doubtful of this considering N7201S (MAX 7 test bed) has been flying a decent amount recently. SWA has quite a bit of pull with Boeing, and hell you could make the argument that Boeing cancelling the 7 would be a breach of contract with SWA.

Only difference between a -7 and -8 is a section of fuselage. Cockpit, wings, tail, engines…all identical.

The chattier they are, the less they actually know. Just BS artists. That rumor makes no sense at all.

What about the 50 Max 8s that are going to time out by year’s end?
