Where are they? Funny you want to state that, how about listing them. The released to check in? Looks like you will be waiting on that for awhile? Guess you did not get the blast email today Huh? LOL!

Let's be honest , release to check in on reserve will work sometimes and probably not very often for this on 4 day block, the commuters, the days of the trip have to match the days of reserve left. With only about 10% being 4 day trips yet about 50% being 4 day blocks of reserve it's pretty unlikely a person starting a 4 day block of reserve will get assigned a 4 day trip. Therefore that person will have to commute in just like before.
3 day to 3 day is more of a possibility, so that's good. But all in all it's not a substitute for long call.
plus if I remember if you do release to check in you lose LCO for the 1st day if something changes.
Its something but nothing spectacular.

Per the request of others I won’t be quoting The Tool.

I’m not on reserve but “released till checkin” would’ve been huge when I was. Anyway, you guys fight amongst yourselves. I’m gonna go change the oil in my Miata and listen to guard on my handheld while doing so.

But as the post above you states, it will not benefit reserve pilots quite often. I'm not a reserve and I'm a commuter. There is no way this would entice me to bid reserve or even pick up a reserve block. The idea of released to check in was sold to the group. Then the details of it came out and as has been said over and over, if you're on a four day block as is often the case, you'll not likely get to benefit from this provision. You'll likely get a 3 day trip assigned the first day and have to commute anyway for the RAP. I guess if it works once or twice a month it's better than nothing, but for those other 2-3 trips that month, it won't change anything.

The changes in disability are really good. And they were necessary because what we had before was really inadequate. Also, LCO *might* end up being great. A few other odds and ends are really nice. But they rushed at the end and should have put on the brakes a bit. All of a sudden the company was ready to settle. They dangled the back pay in our faces right before Christmas. More and more will realize that we should have held out for more. It doesn't mean what we signed sucks. But we should have slowed down and tweaked it better.

RTCI removes the underlying rsv block while still giving you credit for days used on rsv for the RCO. Rsv pays the same as a Lineholder and there’s nothing in the contract that says LCO doesn’t pay day 1 on RTCI. You get paid for any change on day 1 just like a Lineholder….you are effectively a line holder for all intents and purposes. Even on rsv, you get LCO if something changes.

I bid rsv…either that or bottom blanks since I’m jr. It’s 2/10 and I’m up 10 tfp from LCO this month.

I agree it was rushed at the end and am curious why the company all of a sudden decided to get a deal done after years of intentional delays.

Better to have all contracts in place before the merger.

Why? If we bought someone or merged, we'd have to get a JCBA anyway in order to complete the merger/merge the lists.

No way the #4 airline by size is allowed to buy someone if the #6/7 aren’t allowed to merge.

We need a 150 seat plane. There isn’t an airline out there except Breeze that has the fleet we need and they don’t have near enough orders to make a difference.

We’re tied to Boeing for better or worse….
