is there a big enough imbalance of FO to cpt to account for retirements etc,?

Right now there are about 6,100 Captains, and 5,500 F/O’s. In the next year we retire approximately 180 Captains.

Ooooffffffffffff!!! Probably at least 10 plus years to upgrade for the 2022-2023 hires.

When I got hired here they told me with a straight face that I would be stuck in Oakland for a minimum of 3 years and upgrade was 15 best case scenario.
Upgrade was very recently 6 years. The only thing constant around here is change.

True, WHEN we FINLLY get MAX 7s, and Boeing gets the green light to start producing MAXs at full capacity again, I'm willing to bet that with the peak retirements things here are gunna move fast.
